Frequently Asked Questions
What types of training do you offer?
I offer private dog training tailored to your dog’s needs and comfort. In-home sessions are best when behaviour happens at home, like barking when people visit or struggling to settle with guests. Sessions at Puppy Pals in Airdrie give us space, structure, and a safe environment to practice around new distractions. For anxious or reactive dogs, virtual sessions are ideal. We work together online so your dog can stay calm and relaxed. I also teach obedience group classes at Airdrie Puppy Pals for families who want to build skills in a fun, supportive setting.
What areas do you serve?
I provide in-person dog training in Airdrie, Calgary, and nearby communities, plus virtual sessions anywhere in Canada. Whether you’re local or across the country, you’ll get guidance that fits your home, your goals, and your dog’s comfort level.
What kinds of behaviour can you help with?
I help puppies and dogs of all ages dealing with reactivity, fear, or anxiety. That includes barking or lunging on walks, separation concerns, or nervousness around people and dogs. I also work on everyday manners like leash walking, recall, crate training, and polite greetings.
How do virtual sessions work?
Virtual sessions happen on Zoom, making training easier for dogs who feel nervous with new people. I guide you step by step, watch how your dog responds, and adjust the plan in real time. Many dogs make faster progress this way because they stay relaxed at home.
Where do in-person sessions happen?
If we need to address issues that happen at home, I come to you. If your dog needs space and structure, we meet at Puppy Pals in Airdrie. Each setting supports your dog’s learning in a way that feels safe and productive.
How long does training take?
Every dog learns at a different pace. Some families see changes after one session, while others prefer a few weeks of support. I’ll help you understand what to expect and how to keep building success between sessions.
Do you use food rewards?
I use methods based on science and focused on your dog’s comfort. Food rewards are one way to help dogs learn, but not the only one. The goal is clear communication, less stress, and helping your dog feel safe enough to make good choices.
Can you guarantee results?
Real behaviour change and training depends on many factors, including what happens between our sessions and touch points. I can tell you that most of my clients see strong progress because we create plans that fit their dog’s needs and their lifestyle. I’ll give you clear guidance, current knowledge, and full support so you can keep building success and meet your training goals.
What’s your cancellation policy?
You can reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice. I understand plans change and appreciate early notice when possible.
